SG coffee group to hold virtual coffee auction

The Singapore Coffee Association (SCA) will hold its first virtual speciality coffee auction this October. The association is staging the event with Food&HotelAsia (FHA) in conjunction with International Coffee Day on 1stOctober 2020. Coffee producing countries from South-east Asia, South America and Africa will take part in this auction to showcase their speciality beans in Asia.
Enterprise Singapore also supports the Singapore (Micro-Lot) Specialty Coffee Auction. The government agency said the auction would serve as a platform for global speciality green bean producers. These coffee growers can make strategic ventures into Asia’s growing coffee market by leveraging on Singapore as a key trading hub.
Victor Mah, president, Singapore Coffee Association, said it is essential for SCA to continue strengthening Singapore’s position as a coffee hub in the region via virtual platforms.
Up to 300 bidders will attend the auction which will showcase some 40 lots of speciality coffee up for bids. More information on the sale will be made available nearer to date on the SCA website. (Image from Unsplash)
