More Aussies hooked on fishes in 2018

According to a Nielsen Insights
Aussies ate more fish last year
report, more than nine-in-ten (94%) Australian households have purchased some type of fish or seafood last year. In the 52 weeks ending in 8 September 2018, these households spent an average of AUS$167 split across 16 shopping occasions in the last 12 months.
What’s more, major supermarkets are driving the growth of fresh fish and seafood sales, while purchase from speciality shops and fish markets have declined. In 2018, Nielsen found that 79% of Australian shoppers purchased their fresh fish from the supermarket, compared with just 21% buyers of seafood sold in speciality shops and markets.
