Japanese culinary certification now online


The Japanese Culinary Academy Certification Association launched an English website for overseas chefs seeking Japanese culinary certification. The online site can be accessed using a desktop, smartphone or tablets.
The certification will assess professional chefs for their knowledge and skills in Japanese culinary techniques. It also aims to evaluate what professional chefs need to know, from basic knowledge such as the history, culture, and the geographical and climate-related characteristics of ingredients. There are also tests on specialised knowledge and techniques such as grating, baking, and boiling fish. The programme has two categories: the "Fundamental Certification" and the "Practical Certification" for advanced learners. (Image from Unsplash)
