Famed wellness food chef now at Bangkok-based resort

Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort, the holistic health sanctuary in downtown Bangkok, has elevated its F&B offerings by engaging Chef Gabi Kurz, a global nutritional expert and culinary pioneer as the resort’s new wellness cuisine consultant.
Chef Gabi Kurz
Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort features four exceptional F&B outlets, including Tamarind Natural Dining Restaurant, the healthy lifestyle all-day dining restaurant, and Rim Klong Café, the stylish canal-side eatery, plus the Cinnamon Lobby Bar and Sala Pool Bar.
Chef Gabi has enjoyed a long and impressive career in the F&B industry, becoming an established leader in the field of healthy cuisine. In addition to her experience in high-end restaurants and hotels in Europe and the Middle East, she has also written several vegetarian cookbooks, one of which was honoured with the ‘World Cookbook Award’ in Paris, France.
She has now brought this expertise to Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort, which opened earlier this year, nestled amongst 1.2 acres of lush gardens and adjacent to the BDMS Wellness Clinic. In this serene setting, Chef Gabi is working with the resort’s team to design health-focused menus that combine fresh, high-quality and wholesome ingredients, prepared in innovative styles to deliver delicious dishes that are great for the body.
Chef Gabi said: “This project is very dear to my heart, as I am able to incorporate health food into an international hotel. It is clearly understood now that everything we consume directly impacts our physical condition. Food is fuel and eating well is the best way of allowing our bodies to perform at the best of their ability. I believe strongly in this concept and I am delighted to be able to present it to guests on a global stage at Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort.”

Diners will discover dishes high in vitamins, with plenty of colourful fruits and vegetables, generous use of herbs, lean proteins, unsaturated fats and complex carbohydrates. The new menu would also include an extensive range of vegan and gluten-free options — every item being clearly labelled. However, healthy does not mean not indulging! Guests can satisfy their sweet tooth cravings from a selection of “naughty bites” which includes Chef Gabi’s flourless chocolate cake, made using 72% dark organic chocolate.
Many of the menu items have been developed scientifically to cater for the specific courses offered at the BDMS Wellness Clinic, such as heart health, weight management, anti-aging and brain function. This makes the resort’s F&B a key part of its holistic approach to wellness, combining medical services with healthy cuisine, personal fitness, mindfulness and more.
“We are delighted to be working with Chef Gabi, who is a genuine pioneer in the field of wellness cuisine. With her expert guidance, we have devised dishes that taste great while also being packed full of nutritional goodness. We look forward to delighting even more diners with our exciting menus in future,” said Bruno Huber, general manager, Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort.
