Brewing course for industry professionals


Professionals in the beverage brewing industry, especially those working in supporting roles such as sales and marketing, can now learn more about the critical facts on brewing beverages via an online course. The Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD) has launched Essentials in Brewing, a self-assessed online IBD course featuring interactive multimedia learning tools. Established in 1886, IBD is a global institution with more than 3,000 members across 90 countries. The IBD caters for all types of professionals with a passion for brewing and distilling. The school offers gold-standard qualifications globally recognised at four levels of expertise. The new course will teach beverage professionals an enlightening overview of the brewing process, from the history of brewing and raw materials through fermentation and maturation to packaging basics. The institute said understanding of the learning material is self-assessed in each unit. Learners receive a certificate after completing and passing the course. 
Jerry Avis, the IBD CEO, said: "For the first time, we are offering an on-demand self-assessed course with interactive content to respond to the way new generations are learning." He added that the new online course's affordable cost meets their institution's non-profit mission.
One of the most popular beverages that undergo the brewing process is beer. According to Industry Research, the global craft beer market will grow by US$65.09 billion during 2021-2025, progressing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.24% during the forecast period.
