HK and Macau eateries retain their stars


Hospitality brand Marriott Bonvoy said six of its restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau remains star-studded. The famed eateries are listed in the 2022 edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau. These are L'Envol, Tin Lung Heen, Rùn, Tosca di Angelo, Lai Heen and Man Ho Chinese Restaurant.
Michael Malik, senior vice-president of Operations, Greater China, Marriott International, said they are honoured that the restaurants kept their place among the "best of the best". He exclaimed:
"Despite ongoing challenges faced by the F&B industry this last year, our hardworking restaurant teams have demonstrated true grit and commitments to excellence. We want to congratulate them for earning their well-deserved accolades."
Innovative French restaurant L'Envol and Ting Lung Heen, famed for their Cantonese cuisine, each has two stars. In contrast, Rùn, Tosca di Angelo, Lai Heen and Man Ho each has one Michelin star.
Now on its 14th year, the 2022 edition of the guide highlights 71 starred restaurants in Hong Kong and 15 starred restaurants in Macau. Among them, 11 are new addition or promotion to the starred list. The 2022 edition features 249 restaurants across the two territories. It offers a diverse array of cuisines—from Latin American, Korean to Singaporean joining the selection.
