More cloud kitchens open in Singapore

With its eye on the growing adoption of cloud kitchens, Smart City Kitchens in Singapore recently opened its sixth facility in the republic. According to the company, all 27 cloud kitchens at its new Bishan facility houses notable F&B brands such as Jollibee, Guzman Y Gomez, Pastamania, Eighteen Chefs, WingStop, Thai Dynasty, Poke Theory, Da Paolo, The Priority Club, Woobbee, Sushi Express, Sun with Moon and more. Smart City revealed that Singapore's food delivery market had surpassed the billion-dollar mark. Cloud kitchens give food brands fast and affordable access to this growing revenue source. Arin Aghazarian, country manager at Smart City Kitchens, explained:
"Cloud kitchens allow restaurateurs to set up kitchens in populous areas of Singapore and sell their food on delivery platforms. They require much lower overhead than a traditional restaurant operation. And allow restaurateurs to start in a fraction of the time."
Smart City can also handle various restaurant operational aspects such as supply deliveries, maintenance, insurance, and customer orders and deliveries. These services give restaurateurs and food business owners the ability to step into their kitchens, fulfil orders, and focus on their menus and promotions.
Data from Allied Market Research show that the global cloud kitchen market will reach US$71.4 billion by 2027. Growth is due to an increase in demand for online food delivery, a surge in demand for international cuisine, and the implementation of a tech-savvy ordering system across the globe.
