Ayutthaya as new ‘gastro-tourism’ spot

Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, or simply Ayutthaya, is the latest culinary destination added in the upcoming Michelin Guide in Thailand and scheduled for release in late 2021. The new 2022 Thai edition also features the cities of Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Phang-Nga.
Ayutthaya is a unique gastro-tourism destination for all ages. It has a “perfect blend” of old glamour and new charm, with diverse local attractions to cater to all interests.
Gwendal Poullennec, international director of Michelin Guides, said the city's dining scene is an impressive fusion of old and new. The city has long-running restaurants, new eateries in both old, renovated buildings and modern ones. There are also attractive coffee shops and cafés located either on land or in the floating markets.
Together with its rich historical and cultural background, the city's vast culinary offerings ensure a unique experience that keeps local and foreign tourists coming back.
Meanwhile, Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said:
“Besides exploring historical and cultural attractions, enjoying different dishes and delicacies from local markets or dining establishments, has always been one of the most memorable experiences for both local and foreign tourists visiting Ayutthaya.”
With the forthcoming edition of the guide, readers worldwide will be inspired to discover all the renowned magnificence Ayutthaya has to offer, he concluded. (Image from Michelin Guide)
