Singapore key to Taichung City F&B makers’ market expansion plans

Last month’s Speciality & Fine Food Asia (SFFA) in Suntec Singapore unveiled a number of food and beverage products made from around the world. For example, the Taichung City Government-sponsored booth brought in products from seven of the most popular food and beverage companies in Taichung. These were Zhengsheng food, Ivy House, Pipo TeaBabuu House, Hwa Gung Tea, Chen Yun Pao Chuan and Medolly.
Taichung city is located in central Taiwan and is the country's second largest city. Taichung is also Taiwan’s most ‘liveable’ city according to an international media report. The city, which has a rich and historic culinary culture, possess well-developed pastry, baking and tea industries. It is also the birthplace of famous desserts such as pearl milk tea and sun cake.
Singapore is a gateway to the South-east Asia, said Tsai Chen-Chen, Chief Secretary, Taichung City Government. Thus, shows such as SFFA can provide a platform for Taichung’s food manufacturers to help them promote and develop new markets in South-east Asia.
In this video interview, Secretary Tsai revealed to Tasty Asia more details about Taichung’s participation in this year's SFFA show.
